Starting a bucket list? Here are must-try activities for the lover of the outdoors

by Ralph Hernandez / January 18, 2024

New Year traditions aside, it is actually never too late to start a bucket list. If, like us (who are writing a piece about a bucket list late into January), you feel like starting something, just remember the famous sports brand tagline, “Just do it.”

But we’re not here to go on about sports and winning and all that. We’re borrowing the idea from our friends from Casio who sent out a piece about outdoor activities you can try with the G-SHOCK Master of G Mudmaster GWG-B1000, or the “hottest timepiece accessory fit for any extreme activity,” according to their release.

These aren’t that extreme, however, for you to feel adrenaline pumping in your veins. Most of these are relaxing and can be something you can try during one of the several long weekends this year.

1. Hiking

The Philippines has many beginner-friendly hiking spots around Metro Manila, like Pico de Loro and Mt. Batulao. Hiking also gives a sense of fulfillment once you reach the summit and get a full view of the beautiful nature.

According to Casio, the new G-SHOCK Master of G Mudmaster has a barometer used to measure atmospheric pressure and an altimeter to measure the altitude. It also sounds out an alarm in case of a sudden change in atmospheric pressure, which, according to the National Geographic Society could indicate a low-pressure system arriving.

    2. Surfing

If you’re more of a beach person like the author, then surfing is an activity you might want to cross out from your list this year. Check out the less-crowded Zambales, or if you prefer a fun night out after surfing, La Union is your spot.

Casio said the G-SHOCK Master of G Mudmaster is also the perfect companion for surfing as it’s water resistant and its features continue to be operational even underwater. Cue Water by Tyla!

    3. ATV Riding

ATV riding can truly be exhilarating depending on the trail and terrain. Add your friends to the mix and it’s sure to be a memorable experience. The scenery also brings a certain calm knowing you’re not that far but distant enough from the city.

A popular ATV riding spot near Metro Manila is Rizal, with its Twilight-esque vibes at certain times of the day. No need to fear running into Edward or Jacob, as the G-SHOCK Master of G Mudmaster comes equipped with a digital compass and a thermometer that measures the temperature of the current location. Jacob, no swiping!

If all this talk about the new G-SHOCK Master of G Mudmaster has piqued your interest, the three models pictured above are available in all authorized G-SHOCK stores nationwide.
