WATCH: How to survive being single on Valentine’s Day

Sad? Lonely? Or worse of all – SINGLE? Here’s how to survive Valentine’s Day!

DON’T WATCH ROMANTIC MOVIES

Do you love The Notebook? Well, stop. Watching other people’s love stories will only make you feel jealous and bitter. Don’t watch romantic movies.

DO RANK UP

Instead, take your bitterness out on other people in your favorite video game and crush those scrubs. Rank up, baby!

DON’T LISTEN TO SAD SONGS

Crying to Sam Smith and Adele on repeat? Whether you’re thinking of a lost love or being sad about being single since birth, don’t listen to sad songs. Don’t wallow in those negative feelings.

DO LISTEN TO HEAVY METAL OR
GANGSTA RAP

Release all your pent up emotion by screaming along to heavy metal. Letting your hair loose with a good headbanging session. Listen to HipHop if that’s more your style. Feel like a boss. Besides, nothing solves heartbreak like Eminem or Shanty Dope

DON’T LOOK FOR A LAST MINUTE DATE

It’s easy to feel pressured to be with someone, even if it means looking for someone last minute. Don’t force yourself to settle and go out with someone you aren’t really interested in. You could always just date yourself.

DO PLANT A TREE

Plant a tree instead! Trees are awesome carbon sinks that help with global warming.

DON’T EAT OUT

Feeling hungry? Don’t eat out. Restaurants will be packed on Valentine’s Day. Even worse, they’ll be filled with couples being mushy. No thanks. You’ll just lose your appetite.

DO WORKOUT

Do workout. Get fit and get that 6-pack you’ve always wanted. Look good and feel good. In a few months, your ex might regret their life choices when you’ve posted pics of your ripped new bod.

DON’T STALK YOUR EX

Speaking of your ex…DON’T stalk your ex. You’re only going to get hurt thinking about “what ifs”, lingering bad feelings or jealousy, if they’ve moved on. You’re not doing yourself any favors.

DO TAKE YOUR DOG OUT ON A DATE

Instead, take your pet out on a date. Hayop din naman ex mo eh. Your pet might not be the best conversationalist, but he sure is cute!

DON’T WORRY

But most importantly, don’t worry too much! You don’t need a date to be happy. Don’t forget that love isn’t just about chocolate and flowers and candlelit dinners. Enjoy this with family and friends or even just yourself.

Besides, love isn’t something you can only find on Valentine’s Day.
