Motherhood has changed dramatically in the last few decades. As all studies confirm, aside from mothers doing approximately 50 percent more domestic labor, they are now also one of the key drivers of the economy; highlighting the immense power of being a mother. The pandemic however, has also drastically changed the family dynamics. From physical distancing, stay-at-home directives, and down to parenting, a lot of families are adjusting to adapt to the rapidly evolving new normal.
Under these unimaginable circumstances that people are facing and conquering, it is actually women, particularly mothers, who are taking the toll. When there is no separation between work, family, and home, the pressure on mothers exponentially increases.
They may not be physically outside to confront the different battles that many essentials workers continue to face, but mothers can also be considered as frontline workers in their own right, and must therefore be rightfully praised and equally applauded.
To honor and celebrate motherhood, TeamAsia, a women-owned and women-led agency, is holding their first ever Momma Convention. MommaCon 2020 is the avenue for mothers from all walks of life to discuss hard and taboo conversations surrounding motherhood, exchange best practices, and further educate fellow mothers on finance, self-care, and legal matters, enabling them to become smarter decision-makers and stronger pillars of the home. After all, they say that it takes a village to raise a child; but what we don’t know is that it also takes a village to empower a mother.
Gone are the days when the topics soaking around the great task of motherhood are swept under the rug. MommaCon is here to Modify, Unmask, and Magnify modern motherhood.
