Unmasking motherhood and more at the MommaCon 2020

Momma Convention will Modify, Uncover, and Magnify motherhood in the new normal

by Mayren Guico / November 19, 2020

Motherhood has changed dramatically in the last few decades. As all studies confirm, aside from mothers doing approximately 50 percent more domestic labor, they are now also one of the key drivers of the economy; highlighting the immense power of being a mother. The pandemic however, has also drastically changed the family dynamics. From physical distancing, stay-at-home directives, and down to parenting, a lot of families are adjusting to adapt to the rapidly evolving new normal.

Under these unimaginable circumstances that people are facing and conquering, it is actually women, particularly mothers, who are taking the toll. When there is no separation between work, family, and home, the pressure on mothers exponentially increases.

They may not be physically outside to confront the different battles that many essentials workers continue to face, but mothers can also be considered as frontline workers in their own right, and must therefore be rightfully praised and equally applauded.

To honor and celebrate motherhood, TeamAsia, a women-owned and women-led agency, is holding their first ever Momma Convention. MommaCon 2020 is the avenue for mothers from all walks of life to discuss hard and taboo conversations surrounding motherhood, exchange best practices, and further educate fellow mothers on finance, self-care, and legal matters, enabling them to become smarter decision-makers and stronger pillars of the home. After all, they say that it takes a village to raise a child; but what we don’t know is that it also takes a village to empower a mother.

Gone are the days when the topics soaking around the great task of motherhood are swept under the rug. MommaCon is here to Modify, Unmask, and Magnify modern motherhood.

Modify

MommaCon is here to modify motherhood in the now normal.

Along with Teacher Mom Academy Ph Founder Milona Barraca and Little Me Academy Chief Education Officer Ram Olandesca, MommaCon will talk about distance learning and homeschooling and what each one entails for our modern mothers. In this session, ways on how to better manage family schedules and how each parent can be a stakeholder in the education of their children will be tackled to ensure quality education in this era.

The second session will tackle how our modern working moms can thrive in this challenging and ever-shifting world without compromising their roles as the pillars of the home. President and Co-founder of Connected Women Gina Romero along with our expert mom speakers will expound how the modern working mothers can flourish in the new normal in and outside their desks.

Unmask

MommaCon will unmask the trials and tribulations surrounding motherhood.

Together with Senior Partner of Kapunan and Castillo Law Office and Women’s Business Council of the Philippines Trustee Atty. Lorna Patajo-Kapunan, MommaCon will take on the difficult conversations that mothers are facing right now. Programs and services intended to educate, prevent, and mitigate domestic problems as well as the laws in place will be tackled one by one for the moms who are fighting a battle inside their homes in this pandemic.

In line with the previous session, the next talk is about keeping healthy family relationships and maintaining a harmonious home in the new normal with Licensed Psychologist and Sex and Relationships Therapist Dra. Rica Cruz.

Magnify

MommaCon will magnify opportunities for modern mommas to empower them to become the best versions of themselves in the now normal.

New challenges like working from home, facilitating family and home activities are now added to moms’ to-do lists as the lockdown stretches from weeks to months. Self-care is important now more than ever to guarantee that mothers are physically, emotionally, and mentally capable of being there for their loved ones.

In this session, moderator Mompreneur, Momfluencer, and Body Positivity Advocate Rona Samson-Tai will tackle how mothers can thrive and be the best version of themselves in the new normal. From skin-care routines to caring for our mother’s overall wellbeing, expert mom speakers will remind mothers that all moms are still women and can still blossom inside and out.

Fellow mother of eight and Country Manager of Kyani Philippines Kate Bellosillo will wrap the event with a meaningful deep dive into the mental and psychological dilemmas mothers are facing. She is set to discuss how moms can triumphantly conquer each of them, transform their lives for the better, and thrive as a powerful mother and a woman.

It’s time to unite and talk about the things that are never said out loud! MommaCon provides a safe space with expert speakers to answer all the questions that have been long swept under the rug. MommaCon 2020 is the perfect avenue of learning opportunities for mothers to better conquer and thrive during and beyond the pandemic.
