Different parts of the world, including the Philippines, have their own way of celebrating Oktoberfest, but one thing will never change: free-flowing beer and merriment.
This year, Newport World Resorts, in partnership with Hilton Manila, brings this celebration back to its German roots with their first-ever Oktoberfest on October 19 to 21. The country’s premier lifestyle and entertainment destination promises three nights of free-flowing German food, beers, and music.
Knut Becker, VP for Food and Beverage Operations at Newport World Resorts, assures a “very traditional and authentic” Oktoberfest at Hilton Manila, from the setting of classic long benches and tablecloths to the assortment of German breads and sausages that will be served during the event.
Award-winning chefs will prepare a family style spread, which will include a variety of freshly baked German bread, regional sausages like sauerkraut and bratwurst, pork knuckle and chicken schnitzel, and for dessert, baked apple strudel and shredded pancake with vanilla ice cream and berry compote.
Oktoberfest, however, wouldn’t be complete without beer. Guests will get to sample a fine selection of bottles from the Weihenstephan Brewery, the world’s oldest and continuously operating brewery.
Among them are classic Bavarian draft beers such as Helles and lager, along with special brews like the Korbinian dark beer. All the while, guests will be entertained throughout the night courtesy of the world-renowned AnTon Showband from Austria.
David Jorden, Newport World Resorts’ Chief Marketing Officer, took pride in bringing together the best culinary minds to make their very first Oktoberfest a one-of-a-kind experience.
“This festival marks the get-together of culinary masterminds and service excellence from the country’s pioneer integrated resort for an unparalleled authentic experience,” he said.
Tickets to Newport World Resorts and Hilton Manila’s Oktoberfest are still available. Visit their website or send an email to hiltonmanila_events@hilton.com to learn more and avail your seats.
