Tucked away in the bustling streets of Palatiw, Pasig, ChellyRobert offers a surprising variety of furniture and electronics. Despite its modest exterior, the store boasts a spacious interior, with semi-curved stairs leading to a second floor filled with diverse products. Customers are encouraged to tour the whole store and explore its selection of welcoming party boxes, air conditioners, bed frames, and a wide range of chairs, among many other items.

ChellyRobert is the brainchild of Roberto Delos Santos Jr. and Rachelle Rose Abbu. Their journey into entrepreneurship started just six years ago. Roberto, a former salesman at Pasig Mega Market, and Rachelle, his colleague from a BPO company, decided to take the plunge into the world of business. The name “ChellyRobert” combines their names, symbolizing the couple’s strong partnership and joint efforts in building the business.

Roberto initially started with an online marketplace, promoting the business through social media and connecting with suppliers. He soon realized he couldn’t do it alone and asked Rachelle to join him six months later. Together, they navigated the ups and downs of running an online store, growing their business with perseverance and determination.

“Kailangan natin i-try, kasi kapag hindi, walang mangyayari. Risky, pero kailangan gawin. Kapag hindi ka lumagpak, wala ka din experience,” Robert emphasized.

From Home-Based to High Street

ChellyRobert’s humble beginnings started with just ten basic furniture pieces. As the COVID-19 pandemic struck, their business expanded rapidly, necessitating the use of their home’s third floor as a makeshift warehouse. A year later, they rented their first official warehouse, marking a significant milestone.

The couple’s commitment to their business extended to all aspects, from managing their online presence to personally delivering products and sourcing suppliers. Their dedication turned what started as a small passion project into a thriving enterprise.

Rachelle reflected on their unexpected success, saying, “Hindi namin inakala na magiging ganito siya. Kasi hindi namin hinangad yung sobra-sobra, pero sobra-sobra po ang binigay ni God sa amin na blessings.”

With growing demand, they opened their physical store near Pasig Mega Market. What began with a small team in a single-floor shop has expanded into a two-story, eight-person operation. ChellyRobert’s success is not just due to its products but the strong partnership between Roberto and Rachelle. Their store has grown both online and offline, reflecting their dedication and teamwork.

“Ang aim talaga namin sa mga customers para bumalik ay mababang presyo tsaka quality din yung item. Iyon ang pinaka-number one,” Roberto shared.

Their hands-on approach has earned customer loyalty, and many patrons refer others to the store. Roberto and Rachelle do not just manage transactions; they actively engage with each customer, providing personalized product recommendations. This genuine interaction has built a network of satisfied customers and new brand partnerships. Feedback is highly valued at ChellyRobert, helping them refine their product offerings and maintain high standards of quality.

A Vision for the Future

The couple’s vision is for ChellyRobert to become a renowned multi-brand, one-stop shop where customers feel welcome and confident in their purchases. Their commitment to customer satisfaction has led to numerous referrals, growing partnerships, and even casual visits from loyal patrons who come just to wave hello.

Understanding that not everyone can afford immediate purchases, Roberto and Rachelle have partnered with UnaCash, an in-store and in-app financial solutions provider, to offer installment plans for their electronics and appliances. This move has increased store traffic and made their products more accessible to customers on tight budgets.

“Pwede na kaming mag-installment, isang valid ID lang, ang laking factor na noon,” Roberto said. “Pampahatak kasi iyon eh, lalo na kapag yung cash nila is tight talaga. Tapos gustong-gusto nila bumili ng items talaga,” Rachelle explained.

The couple’s care extends beyond the sale. They assist customers through the financing process, helping them manage installment agreements and offering in-store payment options. Their dedication to customer service also applies to their partners, ensuring that every interaction is meaningful and beneficial.

Together, they have built ChellyRobert into a thriving business, constantly adapting and evolving with the needs of their customers. Their journey is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the power of partnership.
