JOMO and more 2018 millennial buzzwords

Just before you got your head around what FOMO is another year has passed and this 2018 JOMO is now the hip catch-phrase for the young millennials! Here are 5 millennial buzzwords you’ll start to hear and see more often than you want!
JOMO
That’s right FOMO or fear of missing out now has a counter part that you can expect the “cool kids” will relentlessly use! JOMO or the joy of missing out is the complete opposite of the latter. Where one can find satisfaction by staying at home and missing out on the “fun” of being outside.
How to use it:
“Person 1: Hey dude, wanna go out for drinks tonight?”
“Person 2: Nah dude, I’m good! Staying at home to watch Friends on Netflix!! #JOMO”
Woke
It’s literally not about being awake, or being woken up by something, rather it’s about being informed and aware of a certain topic or subject. Shookt fam? Now you’re woke! (wink wink). It’s usually associated with contemporary social issues but it can still be used with other topics that involves finding out about the truth.
How to use it:
“You spend so much money to stay on trend while others are suffering from poverty, get woke!”
Salty
We know what you mean but no. This isn’t the common condiment used in our food but rather it’s a feeling of bitterness! The state of being “salty” is when you’re bitter for being made fun of or when you feel attacked and as a result you feel bitter or should we say salty!
How to use it:
“He was salty because he was told off by the boss”
Low Key
Low key or low-key means going under the radar, being modest, or staying quiet for a time being. It’s often used when someone is staying modest and being discrete.
How to use it:
“He didn’t want to standout in the party so he wore simple clothes and stayed low key.”
On Fleek
Ever since the girls started obsessing over having the perfect eyebrows, the term “on fleek” started being used rampantly on the internet, and it basically means having the perfect brows. We expect to hear it more being used on different contexts whether on fashion or grooming!
How to use it:
“Girl, yo eyebrows’ on fleek!” or
“Oh, that pants goes really well with yo top, girl! #Onfleek””
