The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines or IBPAP announced its recent trade mission in Japan as a “success.”
In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), IBPAP went to Tokyo to strengthen ties and create collaborative opportunities between Japan and the Philippines.
IBPAP is the industry association and advocacy group of the country’s IT and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector.
“By strengthening partnerships with other nations, we are further positioning the Philippines as an investment hub for IT-BPM services, creating more opportunities for investment, growth, and innovation that will benefit not only the IT-BPM sector but also the entire Philippine economy,” said IBPAP president and CEO Jack Madrid.
As part of the mission, IBPAP COO Celeste Ilagan presented during the Philippine IT-BPM Business Forum the country’s unique strengths as an investment destination and an in-depth look at the sector’s competitive advantages.
In a release, IBPAP added that the business mission from October 22-25, 2024 gave the Philippine delegation a “valuable learning experience, featuring visits to leading Japanese firms and participation in major events such as Japan IT Week and the HDI Conference.”
The forum also featured a business-to-business matching session, connecting the Philippine delegates to over 50 individuals from various Japanese companies and industries.
Aside from DTI-EMB, IBPAP also partnered with Tatak Pinoy, the Philippine Software Industry Association, the Board of Investment, HDI-Japan, and Techshake for the trade mission.
Fourteen Philippine IT-BPM companies participated in the mission, namely Accenture, ActionLabs, Alliance Software, Asticom, AWS, BCS Technology, CXI Services, Inc., Exist Software Labs, Inc., Inspiro, SGV, TechShake, Tsukiden Global Solutions, Inc., TTEC, and Weserv Systems International, Inc. EVD
