How to work and function without sleep

How do you function when you haven’t had sleep? There are just nights when you have to pull-off all nighters and function the following day. You still need to look presentable, and efficient. Here are some key tips to do so:

Get A Cold Shower

As much as you’re in a rush, showering wakes you up. It gives you a refreshing feeling, and will definitely give you a good kick starter for the day!

Eat Light Breakfast

Get some nutrients in your body cause when we’re sleep deprived our body’s depleted of nutrients. Avoid sugar packed treats at all cost. When we lack sleep we crave for sugar and it is harder to absorb for our body making it an inefficient source of energy. Snack on healthy food instead!

Drink Plenty Of Water

Staying awake, dehydrates you, to still look fresh and to avoid having tired looking skin drink lots of water. Keep drinking water through out the day as it will make you visit the toilet more often, and walking to the comfort room can help you stay awake.

Drink Your Coffee

Get a little caffeine in your system, you can have it in any form, from espresso, hand poured coffee or in sachet, just get coffee in your body! Don’t drink too much coffee! Give it a maximum of 3 cups in the whole day. One in the morning, one in the mid noon, and then afternoon but not after 5p.m. Of course you’re gonna have to sleep right after working and coffee might actually do you bad if you drink it at the wrong time.

Snack Healthy

If you’re feeling the need to snack instead of munching on donuts or anything sweet, grab a fruit instead! Turn to a healthier option eat vegetables such as salad and have a banana for merienda! If you have a blender lying around you can try to make smoothies or go out and buy one at the nearest juice bar just ask them to not go crazy on the sugar syrup.

Get Some Sunlight

Go out and get sunlight! A well lit environment will tell our bodies to start functioning and to get ready for work! So even if you have the biggest eye-bags don’t cover it up with sunglasses. Let the light in!

Naps

Within the day if you find time you can sneak in some naps, go for it! A good 15 or 20 minutes is all you’ll need to re-energize your mind and body!
