How to save your phone if it falls into the toilet

How to save your phone if it falls into a vomit filled toilet – night out with your buds, got drunk, then accidentally dropped your phone in the toilet while throwing up? Here’s what you have to do, panic! No, just kidding. All jokes aside now, here’s what you really have to do:
- Grab your phone off the toilet (that’s right give your hand a little plunge into the cold water of the toilet bowl).
- Wipe the phone dry with cloth, you may use your shirt to dry the device if there’s no choice.
- Remove sim card and case (if you use one).
- Turn off you phone. Leaving it on may cause short circuits that may damage your phone or worse, destroy it completely.
- Don’t dry the phone in the blow-dryer! Contrary to popular beliefs, doing so might force moisture inside the phone that might end up damaging your phone further.
- Rush back to your house! Oh and of course be sure to wash your hands after your little toilet picking.
- Bring out the bigas! Bury the phone in a container full of uncooked rice, let it rest there for at least 24 hours.
- In case you don’t have rice (which is very unlikely) you can use silica gel packets, that’s right! Those little packets inside your newly bought shoes has another use other than sitting inside the shoe box. It will basically do the same as the uncooked rice, it will suck out the moisture in your phone. Place your phone inside a plastic zip bag, place at least three silica gel packets, leave it there for at least 24 hours (here’s a completely unrelated gif).
- And if you’re a person who’s just too clumsy, and you regularly get your phone into a deep plunge, we suggest you get a phone that’s water proof!
