How to “latag” your summer in Calatagan, Batangas

How do you kick off summer you ask? I-latag mo! Head down to Calatagan, Batangas this weekend and enjoy a  beautiful unspoiled beach, go star gazing, hang out by the sand with your friends, and many more! 

The peninsula’s near white sand beach is a well-known vacation and leisure destination for the weekend warriors as it’s not too far from the metro as well. It’s a quick romantic getaway you have to check out!

How to get there:

  1. There are vans from EDSA-Taft station going straight to Calatagan for a 3-4 hour ride, depending on the traffic. The fare is Php180.
  2. Drop off at Calatagan Public Market.
  3. From Calatagan Public Market, queue for a tricycle to Manuel Uy Beach Resort. The fare is Php200.

If you’re on a budget but still want to settle for a resort then Manuel Uy Beach Resort is perfect for you. It’s a paradise for the budget travelers and an unforgettable memory is for you to make!

  • Pay a Php 30 environmental fee before entering Manuel Uy.
  • The entrance fee for day tour is Php50 per head. Php100 for an overnight stay.
  • Php50 placement fee for the tent. Php500 tent rent.
WHAT TO DO
Spending Nights Outdoors.

If you’re feeling adventurous then going outdoors is the way to be! There are places in the area that you can actually set up a tent just be sure to set up fast before you lose a spot!  Ideally on a place where you can watch the sunrise or sunset with your friends.

Stargazing

Spending the night with no roof over your heads? Don’t fret because you’re be having a wonderful time star gazing! Lie on the sand with your friends, count the stars, and appreciate its beauty. Start checking out the name of the constellations so you can name each one of them!

Bonfire

Sit around the bonfire, share stories with your friends and maybe even start signing camp fire songs! Bonding over a bonfire is always an enjoyable experience.
