Hangover recovery food

How to recover from a hangover and restore the brain cells you just fried. After a night of drinking we could all use some scrumptious meal.
1 Nuts and Seeds. Toby’s, nilagang mani from the street or from Landmark Supermarket, Makati. Best served raw, these quick and easy bar-must-haves. Toast or roast them yourself (pop them in the oven toaster) so they’re not swimming in oil like the supermarket stuff. These are Omega-3 rich and great sources of vitamin E, meaning less cognitive decline as you get older.
2 Carrot sticks. Not sexy enough for beer, sure. But they’re good for your eyes, and you know how beer sometimes makes you see things that aren’t really there, like a 10. Some blue cheese dip can even-out the loser-factor of this finger food. If you don’t want to eat carrots then you gotta know how to not get drunk in the first place.
3 Asparagus spears. We know, it’s kind of depressing bar-chow. But these guys are high in folate, and depressed people are usually low in folate, so that’s a bit of a conundrum. Fine, wrap them in bacon. Nutritional fat is actually good for you. Now you’re happy.
4 Grass-fed beef Tapa. A good night with the guys ain’t worth its salt without this Pinoy favorite. Grass fed beef is low in Sat Fat and Omega 6. Grass fed just tastes better period! But if you find grass-fed beef Tapa too expensive the regular ones would be fine as well.
5 Deviled native eggs. Take out the yoke from your hard-boiled, mash them, mix in a bit of mustard and paprika and spicy stuff, squeeze them back onto your halved eggs and voila. It’s not bar chow. It’s hors d’oeuvres. A little effort makes everything look French. High in omega 3.(Here’s a video on how to make one)
6 Tahong. Grill them in the oven toaster with butter and parsley on top, or just steam the babies. Mussels pack 27 grams of protein in a quarter pound. The highest levels of vitamin B-12 to help insulate those brain cells. Use an empty shell as pincers for the next.
7 Berries. They’re perfect with dessert wines, or the champagne aperitif at sunset, or bellinis for the Oscar Red Carpet breakfast party. In other words this is for sosyalan. The flavonoids in berries are known to have anti-inflammatory powers that cut the risk of Parkinson’s. And they’re good for helping burn the calories you just chugged. Ok, now you care.
