This is it! Apple just dropped the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X (that’s 10, not the letter X). Each product boasted beefed up features, such as upgraded processor chips, better display, better camera. But of course all these features come at a higher price: the iPhone 8 starts at USD 699 while the bigger iPhone 8 Plus starts at USD 799 and the star of the show, the iPhone X starts at USD999.
The best thing about today’s technology is that most of the features available in Apple products are also available in more affordable smartphones. If you’re having second thoughts with the new iPhone because of your budget, you might want to consider these alternatives. Here are the best smartphones below PHP 20,000!
The V5 might not be the latest flagship phone of Vivo but the specs are still at par with today’s standard for mid-range smartphones. It’s packed with the usual suspects: 4GB of RAM, a Qualcomm midrange chipset, a sufficient 3,000 mAh battery, a good 5.5-inch 720 p display, and the main feature of this device, the cameras. The phone boasts a 20-megapixel front-facing camera equipped with flash for taking good selfies wherever and whenever you feel like it. Its 13-megapixel main shooter isn’t bad either. With its phase detection autofocus, it is as capable as its selfie camera. The user interface of this device is also reminiscent of iPhone’s iOS, because why not? The Vivo V5 is available in all Vivo concept stores, priced at around Php 13,000.
Just like the iPhone’s awesome front facing camera, you can’t deny the awesomeness of the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie dual lens front facing camera as well! But before we go there here’s what the phone packs: Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.4 GHz octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM , 64GB of storage, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The biggest draw of this camera is its double lens selfie camera, hence the name. Unlike other selfie cameras, it has two selfie cams: one 20-megapixel shooter for a higher definition image, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera that’s perfect for taking a wefie (That’s group selfie, in case you didn’t get it). Despite the adequate features and dual selfie cam, ASUS was able to keep the price range at a friendly Php 13,995. With a price tag like this, it’s really hard to choose!
If you want a phone with a big screen that performs well and at the same time can keep up with your quirks, then Oppo F3 Plus is perfect for you! Just like an iPhone 8 Plus, this phone has a big display, a 6-inch screen ratio in fact! You can watch videos and play games on a big display and with a pixel density of 367, so the F3 is sure to give a delightful experience. Just like the ASUS device, the camera is also the main feature of this phone, with a dual front-facing camera, one with a 16-megapixel shooter dedicated for a beauty shots and an 8-megapixel wide angle cam for group selfies. It also has a 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, an octa-core processor and a big 4,000 mAh battery. Oppo F3 Plus is slightly more expensive at around Php 16,000, but it’s still a reasonable price for a feature-packed phone with a big display, and still way more affordable than the latest iPhone.
The Samsung J7 series has always been the perfect alternative for anyone looking for good performance and features topped with a friendly price tag. The latest addition, J7 Pro, did not disappoint of course, with its perfect balance of midrange smartphone goodness and a stylish look. Its metal casing makes the phone look premium and sturdy, making it look more luxurious than its price tag suggests. But it’s not just about the good looks. It packs two 13-megapixel cameras on both front and back, 3GB of RAM, and an impressive 3,600 mAh battery! The main standout feature of this phone is its beautiful and crisp AMOLED screen! Even Apple can’t disagree with that (Apple uses Samsung’s display technology) and it is priced only at around Php 16,000. You can’t ask for more at this point.
